Starting from the “#RIEN Manifesto” to some other provocative and ironic texts-object-installations, we can draw some pertinent conclusions related to the evolution of current society.”
His own artistic work freely moves through a wide area of genres and visual techniques, from drawing, collage, and experimental printing to video installations, performance-actions, and urban interventions. His projects invite a critical (sometimes self-critical) response to stereotypes of thought in the current society, parodying erroneous values and icons created in new media through fake news propaganda.
Mihai Zgondoiu (b. 1982) is an artist, curator, and independent gallerist with a doctorate in the visual arts. He’s been teaching at the Bucharest National University of Arts since 2014 and, since 2018, at the Timișoara Faculty of Arts and Design. Mihai was also the developer and coordinator of the Atelier 030202 Gallery in Bucharest (2009-present), a co-curator of the geamMAT Gallery at the Timișoara Art Museum (2012-2014), and a co-curator of the “Atelier în tranziție” project
