Abstract
The connecting link between the works from the different years is the core. The nucleus I am talking about is the cell. In my case the color cell, which divides, multiplies, mutates and transforms, moves on the canvas, as well as acting in other ways, completing the landscape of the work piece by piece.
The organic patterns interlock and form, just like in nature, new creatures or they depict familiar images. They always follow the systematic schemes that naturally arise and grow through the gesture of the brushstroke and their own semiotics. They are therefore the basic essence of organic painting, be it informal, abstract or figurative.

PAINTINGS
Additional to my abstract paintings I also produce some realistic and conceptual paintings. Sometimes they have some influences of the Naiv Art as well as from the Informal Art. The newest series is actually the portrait paintings.

DRAWINGS
The most important topics within my drawings is portrait drawing (or portrait painting). I have divided these into several series, such as the “Revolutionary Icons” which depict political and revolutionary figures in our present and history, or the drawings by artists named “Colleagues”. This realistic work forms a counterbalance to abstract, non-figurative works, which are a clear reference to my classical studies (in Santiago de Chile). Furthermore, this year I started with the realistic reproduction of mushrooms and mycelia, these sketches form the basis for my ongoing project “Mykologica” – Research porject about the life of mushrooms.

PHOTOGRAPHY
My photographic work not only accompanies me on my travels at home in Berlin and abroad as a digital register of the places I have visited, but also serves as the basis for my drafts of sketches in drawing and painting. The focus is on urban photography (such as the graffiti collection or urban landscapes), as well as nature photography. In addition to landscapes and insects, photography of mushrooms and mycelium play an important role.

Mycelium
Whenever time permits, I go to the woods on a mushroom safari. This means, beside collecting well-known edible varieties, I also collect insights, impressions and images that I try to catch with my cameras. This way of working-exploring has developed into an important artistic discipline within my creative work. The more I go out, the more I realize how diverse and unique the world of these creatures is. The varity of Structures and colours is incredible and the scientific part is super complex. With every excursion it becomes clear how little we know about the world of these hybrid creatures between plants and animals. Mushrooms are one of the most interesting and mysterious organisms on our planet.
