The 3rd ENCUENTRO Latinoamericano de Performance Art will take place in the city of Berlin from July 3rd to 6th, 2025. In its third consecutive year, the non-for-profit art gallery and creative center, Organ Kritischer Kunst (OKK), in collaboration with the artist Hector Canonge, brings together a group of Latin American performance artists who have been living and working in various countries in Europe. The initiative, created by Canonge and hosted by OKK since 2023, aims to forge stronger connections among participating artists and their counterparts in Berlin and elsewhere.
Despite the challenges of creating a non-funded project and volunteering to undertake such a demanding enterprise since 2023, Canonge and OKK’s founder and director, Pablo Herrmann, have continued efforts to sustain a program devoid of any institutional or government support, or commercial monetary exchange. Participating artists not only contribute with the presentation of their work but are self-funded in their efforts to create and sustain a vibrant and networked Latin American presence in Europe. The ENCUENTRO is not just a festival but was created as a hub to stimulate the much-needed dialogue about Performance Art and its various modalities of creation and presentation.

El 3er ENCUENTRO Latinoamericano de Performance Art se realizará en la ciudad de Berlín del 3 al 6 de julio de 2025. En su tercer año consecutivo, la galería sin fines de lucro y centro creativo Organ Kritischer Kunst (OKK), en colaboración con el artista Héctor Canonge, reúne a un grupo de artistas latinoamericanos de performance que han vivido y trabajado en varios países de Europa. La iniciativa, creada por Canonge y organizada por OKK desde 2023, busca fortalecer las conexiones entre los artistas participantes y sus homólogos en Berlín y otros lugares.
A pesar de los desafíos de crear un proyecto sin financiamiento y del voluntariado para mantener una empresa tan exigente desde 2023, Canonge y Pablo Herrmann, fundador y director de OKK, han continuado los esfuerzos para sostener un programa sin apoyo institucional, gubernamental ni intercambio monetario comercial. Los artistas participantes no solo contribuyen con la presentación de sus obras, sino que también se autofinancian para crear y mantener una presencia latinoamericana vibrante y conectada en Europa. El ENCUENTRO no es solo un festival, sino que fue creado como un espacio para estimular el diálogo necesario sobre el Arte de Performance y sus diversas modalidades de creación y presentación.

Das 3. LATINAMERIKANISCHE PERFORMANCE ART TREFFEN findet vom 3. bis 6. Juli 2025 in Berlin statt. Zum dritten Mal in Folge bringt die gemeinnützige Kunstgalerie und Kreativzentrum Organ Kritischer Kunst (OKK) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Künstler Hector Canonge eine Gruppe lateinamerikanischer Performance-Künstler zusammen, die in verschiedenen Ländern Europas leben und arbeiten. Die von Canonge ins Leben gerufene Initiative, die seit 2023 von OKK veranstaltet wird, hat zum Ziel, stärkere Verbindungen zwischen den teilnehmenden Künstlern und ihren Kolleg:innen in Berlin und anderswo zu knüpfen.
Trotz der Herausforderungen, ein nicht gefördertes Projekt zu schaffen und sich seit 2023 ehrenamtlich dieser anspruchsvollen Aufgabe zu widmen, haben Canonge und OKKs Gründer und Direktor Pablo Herrmann die Bemühungen fortgesetzt, ein Programm ohne institutionelle oder staatliche Unterstützung oder kommerziellen Geldaustausch aufrechtzuerhalten. Die teilnehmenden Künstler tragen nicht nur mit der Präsentation ihrer Werke bei, sondern finanzieren sich selbst, um eine lebendige und vernetzte lateinamerikanische Präsenz in Europa zu schaffen und zu erhalten. Das ENCUENTRO ist nicht nur ein Festival, sondern wurde als Plattform geschaffen, um den dringend benötigten Dialog über Performance-Kunst und ihre verschiedenen Schaffens- und Präsentationsformen zu fördern.
