Artist’s Biography:
HECTOR CANONGE is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and cultural promoter. His artistic work incorporates the use of media technologies, physical environments, cinematic and performative narratives. Canonge is the recipient of the 2012 Geothe Zentrum Award in Latin America for his project “SIN FRONTERAS,” and has received the 2012-2013 Franklin Furnace Award for his upcoming project “LAB.ORAL.” Upon his return to the US this year, he started “PERFORMEANDO,” a program/project/collective that focuses on featuring Latin/o/a performance artists living and working in the Unites States.
